This will, if I can learn the ropes, be a temporary blog that provides updates on the Minot State University GEOL 290 Regional Geology class field trip that will take place over spring break (plus a few days). We have been using class time so far to look at some of the geology we will be seeing, and getting ready in terms of trip logistics. One focus has been preparing for a 3-day backpacking adventure at Grand Canyon National Park. Other places we will travel to or through include the Snake River Plain, a bit of Basin and Range, Great Salt Lake, Zion National Park, Monument Valley, Goosenecks State Park, Four Corners, Mesa Verde National Park, Canyonlands National Park (Needles District), Arches National Park, Dinosaur National Monument, Flaming Gorge, Powder River Basin, and Devils Tower National Monument.

I will update things when I can––there will certainly be times when we don't have internet or phone service.
