It is also Deep!

Don’t know how much I will post here, but 7 students and I made it back out! We started out Tuesday morning at 7:20.

It was a tough day of hiking down the Hermit Trail to Hermit Rapids along the Colorado River. Took our time perhaps too much—the part we hiked in the dark.

Yesterday morning we had a relaxing morning along the River and then headed out about noon for a relatively short hike up to Hermit Creek campsite.

Hermit Creek campsite was a nice spot, and it had vault toilets!

Today was a tough hike out, but we all made it, in three sets going at our own speeds. We left at 6:20 am, and the last group (including me) got out about 5:00.

We are camping at Mather Campground tonight—will be chilly! We will be leaving mid morning rather than early. We’ll just have to adjust our schedule for the next couple days.
